Picking up pace, the Expotrade FIM Women’s Enduro World Championship gets set for round two in Oliana, Spain, from 1-3 May.
After an exciting and action-packed season opener at the GP of Italy in Sicily, the Expotrade Women’s Enduro categories of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship take to the Spanish mountains in Oliana for what promises to be a competitive weekend of racing.
A new venue for the Women’s Enduro classes, having missed out on the GP of Spain in 2025, Oliana’s mixture of forest-based GMOTO Enduro Test, fast-paced EXPOTRADE Cross Test and technically demanding POLISPORT Extreme Test, plus the super competitive AKRAPOVIC Super Test will put competitors through their paces.
In Sicily, we witnessed two new winners emerge, with France’s Justine Martel (Beta) claiming a double victory in the Expotrade Women’s Enduro class, while Italy’s Sara Traini (Triumph) won both days in the Expotrade Junior Women’s Enduro category.

Martel holds early lead in world championship
From her debut win on day one to winning day two and taking an early lead in the Expotrade Women’s Enduro class, Ambiance Moto supported Martel enjoyed a breakthrough ride in the world championship in Sicily.
With newfound form, it’s clear the Frenchwoman has been working hard during the off-season to establish herself as a front-runner, and will be highly motivated to keep that winning momentum rolling next time out in Oliana.
“To win both days is a great weekend for me,” told Martel in Custonaci. “During the winter I worked hard to improve, and with a new bike and new team, it’s going in the right direction this season.”

As the defending world champion, RIEJU Factory Team’s Rachel Gutish had a mixed start to her 2026 campaign. Fastest in the AKRAPOVIC Super Test, Gutish showed her speed from the outset. But her weekend became hampered with multiple time penalties that ultimately cost her any chance of winning. If she can iron out those errors, Gutish has the speed to challenge Martel.
Ending the GP of Italy third overall in standings, Italy’s Sara Traini stepped forward as one of the standout performers in Sicily. An incredible world championship debut saw the Triumph rider join Martel and Gutish on the podium on day one, before taking fifth on day two. The rookie will look to build on those results when she swaps home soil for Spanish terrain in Oliana.
Behind the top three, the remainder of the top five was closely fought out. France’s Mauricette Brisebard (Beta) holds fourth by one point over her fellow countrywoman Lorna Lafont (Husqvarna) in fifth.
France’s Marine Lemoine (KTM) and Britain’s Nieve Holmes (Sherco) are tied on points in sixth and seventh, respectively. Lemoine will be a rider to watch for in Spain having overcome a problematic 12th on day one in Sicily to finish as runner-up to Martel on day two.

Traini aiming to win again in Spain
As mentioned, the Expotrade Junior Women’s Enduro category sees Traini hold an early lead in the standings thanks to her double victory. The young Italian led home defending champion Lafont both days, immediately establishing herself as a serious contender in this year’s title chase.
Lafont did push Traini hard throughout the weekend in Custonaci, claiming multiple special test wins, but was unable to get the better of her rival. A change in terrain to Northern Spain may work in the French youngster’s favour.
Placing third both days at round one, France’s Charlene Boudon (Fantic) arrives at the GP of Spain third overall, ahead of Britain’s Elizabeth Tett (TM MOTO) and Poland’s Maja Kozlowska (KTM).
Round two of the Expotrade FIM Women’s Enduro World Championship will take place alongside the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship GP of Spain in Oliana, on 1-3 May.
