FIM Strengthens its Leadership Role in Creating a Safe and Respectful Environment in Motorcycling

The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) reaffirms its strong commitment to ensuring a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for everyone involved in motorcycling-related activities through the publication of its Safeguarding Framework.

Developed to prevent and address all forms of harassment, abuse and misconduct, the Safeguarding Framework aims to protect the physical, emotional and social well-being of all individuals within the FIM Family. It applies to everyone involved in any FIM activity, including riders, teams, officials, volunteers, manufacturers, staff, and representatives of the FIM, its Continental Unions and Commissions.

As the international governing body of motorcycling, the FIM has a clear duty of care towards the entire FIM Family. The Safeguarding Framework formalises this responsibility by establishing clear principles and standards of behaviour.

Through this Framework, the FIM adopts a zero-tolerance approach to psychological, physical and sexual abuse, discrimination, bullying and neglect, in line with international best practices and the IOC Guidelines on safeguarding in sport. The Safeguarding Framework will be enforced through the obligations, procedure and sanctions established in the FIM Code of Ethics.

Beyond defining rules and procedures, the FIM plays a proactive role by promoting awareness, encouraging reporting and ensuring that all individuals understand their responsibility in safeguarding others. Clear and confidential reporting mechanisms are in place to protect victims and ensure that any concern is addressed with care, fairness and integrity.

Through this commitment, the FIM continues to lead by example, reinforcing a culture of respect, safety and responsibility across the global motorcycling community.
