FRAUENFELD (Switzerland) 27th March 2026 – The MXGP of Switzerland presented by iXS officially got underway today in Frauenfeld, as key figures gathered for the traditional Opening Press Conference ahead of a highly anticipated race weekend.
Present at the conference were Willy Läderach, the MXGP of Switzerland’s Organiser alongside Romain Febvre of Kawasaki Racing Team and Lucas Coenen of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing.
With another year of world-class racing on Swiss soil, fans can expect a full line-up of stars and World Champions ready to take on the unique challenges of Frauenfeld. The tight, hard-pack circuit will offer a stark contrast to the opening rounds in Argentina and Andalucía, demanding precision, adaptability and strong starts from all riders.
Excitement is building as Swiss fans prepare for a spectacular weekend of racing from Saturday through Sunday.
Event organiser Willy Läderach underlined both the scale of the effort behind the event and the optimism heading into the weekend:
“It’s very hard work to build up an MXGP like this, but our teams have done a very professional job and everything is ready. We’re hoping for good weather so the races can be really interesting. We’re ready to start this GP and hope it will be a great one.”
Romain Febvre arrives in Frauenfeld looking to rebound after a rare non-scoring second race last weekend following a crash. The Frenchman remains confident about his form and the championship fight ahead:
“I feel okay now. It was a strange crash and I wasn’t expecting it at all. The first days were tough, but nothing serious, and I could already ride again this week. With a bit more rest, I feel pretty good for the weekend. [..] It’s never good to score zero, but it’s only the beginning. The level is really high this year and I think we’ll see a strong battle between several riders.”
Red plate holder Lucas Coenen heads into the Swiss round with confidence after a dominant performance last weekend and anticipates a different challenge:
“It was one of those weekends where everything just clicked. You don’t get that every time, so I know it won’t always be like this, but it was a really good one. [..] We’ll have to see how the track develops, but it’s a hard-pack track so it will be an adjustment. In the end, it’s about doing the best we can like every weekend.”
With a stacked field, a technical hard-pack layout, and the importance of strong starts and early laps, everything is in place for an exciting edition of the MXGP of Switzerland presented by iXS. As the gates drop in Frauenfeld, fans can look forward to another outstanding showcase of motocross at the highest level.
