It’s all to play for in the Putoline Oil FIM Youth Enduro World Championship as the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship approaches the second half of the season, beginning with round four in Fafe, Portugal, on 12-14 June.
Exceptionally close racing sees Team KTM Pro Racing Sport’s Simone Cagnoni lead the way in the Putoline Oil Youth Enduro class after three rounds, with only three points separating the top three riders and 14 points covering the top five competitors in the overall standings.
Always a highly competitive category in EnduroGP, the Putoline Oil Youth Enduro class is once again delivering the goods in 2026. So far this season, there have been four different race winners and six different podium finishers across the three rounds and six race days held.
Approaching round four of seven, it is Team KTM Pro Racing Sport’s Simone Cagnoni who will go to Portugal holding the championship lead for the very first time. The Italian has proved himself a model of consistency to date in 2026 with four podium finishes, while never dropping lower than fifth.
Although yet to claim a win, he is putting together a strong championship run and currently holds a three-point lead over TM MOTO Costa Ligure’s Pietro Scardina and WP Eric Auge’s Yago Dominguez, jointly.
Scardina hit the ground running at the season opener in Sicily, taking victory on day one and fourth on day two. At the Polisport GP of Spain he won again on the opening day of racing, while this time improving to third on day two.
However, the GP of Finland wasn’t so kind to the Italian. A runner-up result on day one was marred by a non-score on day two, severely hurting his chances of becoming the championship leader.

For Dominguez, this season has been one of steady progression. The young Spaniard enjoyed a solid start to his campaign with a 4-5 scorecard in Italy. At his home Grand Prix, he claimed his first podium result with third on day one, later going on to finish fourth on day two. But in Finland, he came to the fore.
After taking another fourth place result on day one, he rode clear to claim a stunning debut victory on day two, moving him right into this year’s title fight. Having proved that he has the speed necessary, the WP Eric Auge rider will be racing hard in Portugal for more success.
Sitting just outside the top three in fourth is Fantic Factory Racing’s Valentin Mersin, who also became a first-time winner at the GP of Finland. The young French rider has overcome a lowly 14th place on day one at round one to put himself back into contention as the halfway point of the season approaches.

Mersin’s Fantic Factory Racing teammate, Riccardo Pasquato completes the top five, despite missing the GP of Finland due to injury. The Italian held the championship lead during the first two rounds with a super consistent 2-1-2-1 scorecard.
Forced to miss round three, he’s hoping to make a return in Portugal and climb back up the leaderboard. With just 14 points separating him from leader Cagnoni, all is not yet lost for Pasquato.
The Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship continues with round four, GP of Portugal I, in Fafe, on 12-14 June.
