Severe weather forces FIM Bajas World Cup date change

In a change to the 2026 FIM Bajas World Cup calendar, Portugal’s Baja Castelo Branco – that was originally scheduled to be staged as round three on 10-12 April – will now conclude the series on 13-15 November following recent severe weather that caused significant damage to the event course and surrounding area.

With fallen trees, landslides and road closures impacting sporting conditions and prompting safety concerns, the Federação de Motociclismo de Portugal has taken the wise decision to postpone the Baja Castelo Branco – that has been a regular stop on the calendar for the last four years – until the end of the season.

As a result, the next two events in the seven-round 2026 FIM Baja World Cup will both be held in Spain with the Baja TT Extremadura on 19-20 June and the Baja Aragon on 24-26 July. These will be followed by back-to-back events in the Middle East with the Baja Qatar on 28-31 October and the Dubai International Baja on 5-8 November before the series signs off with the rescheduled Baja Castelo Branco on 13-15 November.
